Those who love fast Mercedes AMGs but prefer a station wagon body can now rejoice. Mercedes AMG has unveiled the new charged E 63 Estate at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The Mercedes Benz E 63 AMG station wagon differs from the previous Mercedes E43 AMG Estate.

Comparing the appearance of the new Mercedes AMG E 63 Estate 2017 and AMG E43, the changes are quite noticeable. First of all, this is the front grille, instead of the usual insert with a chrome edging, in the charged Mercedes E 63 AMG station wagon it is in the form of a company emblem, in the central part and chrome horizontal stripes left and right, by the way, there is an AMG inscription on the left lane. A front camera was placed under the emblem, horizontal inserts were placed behind the emblem on the entire width of the grille. The engineers made such a step for improved airflow of the Mercedes E 63 AMG Estate engine and engine cooling, which also improved aerodynamic performance.

Compared to the E43 AMG, in the new Mercedes E 63 AMG, the front bumper has become much larger, bumper inserts have appeared between the front optics and the hood, and the company emblem has migrated from the hood to the bumper over the radiator grill. As for the front optics of the Mercedes E 63 AMG Estate, the shape is the same as on the previous station wagon, it is based on LED optics and an adaptive control system. In the upper part, LED daytime running lights are clearly visible.

The lower part of the front bumper of the Mercedes E 63 AMG has also undergone minor changes. The additional radiator grill at the bottom has found new inserts, they are also air guides. An additional insert appeared between the lower and upper grilles, on which the engineers placed the sensors. On the left and right on the bumper of the Mercedes E 63 AMG, additional holes for aerodynamics are located. Previously, the horizontal stripes were more expressive and merged with the bumper.

No less changes were made to the hood of the new Mercedes E 63 AMG 2017. It has become much smaller and fits end-to-end with the front bumper and fenders. The central curved strip disappeared, instead of it two lines from 1/4 of the radiator grill appeared. The side ribs of the hood were left unchanged, they start from the side of the radiator grill to the A-pillars.

The front fenders received minimal changes - this is a part near the front optics and new nameplates, denoting the engine of the charged Mercedes E 63 AMG station wagon. Otherwise, everything remained the same as it was.

The side section of the new Mercedes E 63 AMG Estate received minimal changes, except for the front fenders, changes were made to the horizontal line. The rest of the side of the station wagon remains the same as it was in the charged E43.

According to representatives, the dimensions of the new Mercedes E 63 AMG 2017 are almost the same as in the AMG E43 Estate, but the width has increased by 27 mm, presumably the new station wagon acquired the following dimensions:

• length Mercedes E 63 AMG - 4954 mm;
• station wagon height - 1461 mm (ready for the trip);
• the width of the new Mercedes E 63 AMG is 1887 mm (the previous E43 AMG was 1860 mm);
• the wheelbase of the novelty is 2939 mm.

With such dimensions, in order to deploy this sedan, space will be required, about 12.5 m in diameter, and this is an indicator that the Mercedes AMG E 63 wagon is large enough. Width has increased at the expense of wider wheels, which pulled wider arches along with it.

The rear of the new 2017 Mercedes E 63 AMG has remained almost unchanged, the spoiler and LED optics remain the same as on the charged E43. Above the rear optics, the entire width is accentuated by a chrome strip. Small changes have been made to the lower part of the bumper, the diffuser has acquired a chrome line at the top and three vertical lines, which simply did not exist before. The exhaust tips of the Mercedes E 63 AMG Estate are also chromed.

There is no information on the color scheme yet, but presumably, there will be the same shades as in the Mercedes AMG E43:

• black;
• White.

Mercedes E 63 AMG metallic will be available in shades:

As befits an AMG series, these are strict body shades. The last thing left to consider is the roof of the Mercedes AMG E 63. Regardless of the configuration, and there will be two of them, the designers installed a panoramic roof, on the sides there are still rails for attaching an additional trunk or other cargo transportation devices.

The appearance of the new Mercedes AMG E 63 turned out to be better than the previous one, became more expressive and austere, the modified radiator grille only benefited and thereby improved aerodynamic performance. At the heart of the new station wagon are branded 20 ″ AMG alloy wheels.

Under the center display, there are still four round air vents, with two air flow regulators. Closer to the steering wheel of the Mercedes E 63 AMG Estate there is a Start / Stop button, to the left of the steering wheel there is a control panel for various security systems and a control knob for lighting devices, a button for opening and closing the trunk lid is slightly lower.

It is immediately noticeable that starting from the basic configuration of the Mercedes E 63 AMG, the interior of the station wagon is decorated with carbon inserts, a line of interior lighting is visible a little lower. The steering wheel of the Mercedes E 63 AMG is sporty in the style of this manufacturer, flattened at the bottom and sides, on the lower spoke there is a characteristic inscription, which was not in the previous generation. Also, the steering wheel has found an aluminum insert on the top. High-quality perforated leather and Nappa leather were used as the material for the interior upholstery of the Mercedes E 63 AMG Estate.

The central part is still occupied by the emblem of the Mercedes company, on the side spokes there are buttons for controlling mobile communications and various functions of the car. Behind the wheel of the Mercedes E 63 AMG Estate, you can clearly see the gearshift paddles with the inscriptions Down and UP, there are also the steering knobs, adaptive cruise control and other safety systems. Thanks to this system, the station wagon is enriched with many different functions, from remote engine control, to full control without the participation of the driver. Many functions will be available under the control of a smartphone, in other words, sitting in the back seat or in a cafe, you can fully drive the Mercedes E 63 AMG Estate and see the necessary information.
