Kia Proceed 2019: characteristics, details

The prototype of the production Kia Proceed 2019 hatchback was spotted at the final testing at the Nurburgring. Despite the partial covering of the body with camouflage, the car is still well recognizable. According to reliable data, the official premiere of the new Kia Proceed 2019 should take place in October 2018 at the Paris Motor Show.

In terms of third-generation sales, the first cars in Europe will arrive at dealerships towards the end of this year.

If we compare the third generation of the Kia Proceed 2019 with previously presented cars, then it is one to one built on the basis of its concept, which was presented in Frankfurt last year. The first two generations were presented in a three-door Ceed coupe body, this new product is made in a 5-door version. In the manufacturer's documents, this body is listed under the name Shooting brake, there was nothing like this before. The platform was taken as a basis, which is also used in the new Ceed Sportswagon and the usual Ceed. Similarly, the suspension is taken from the same models, in the new Kia Procced there is an independent McPherson in front, a multi-link suspension in the back.

By standard, all Kia Proceed 2019 units are paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. As an option for the 1.4-liter gasoline engine, as well as for the diesel unit, a 7-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches is provided. With regard to the drive, the transmission of torque is only to the front of the hatchback. According to the manufacturer, next year they plan to release a hybrid version of the Kia Proceed, the on-board network of such a car is 48 V. The option of producing a plug-in hybrid version of the hatchback is not excluded.
