In November 2015, at the international car show in Los Angeles, the Japanese corporation Mazda presented its new seven-seater large crossover CX-9. But, the official photos of the new car were posted on the network relatively recently. Note that the first impression of the car's appearance is quite good, to say the least.

Mazda continues to work on the famous KODO corporate identity, this time it is the turn of the flagship crossover. In addition to the impeccably shiny appearance, the designers have worked hard on the quality construction of the style, unlike their predecessors, the newest CX-9 installed high-tech advanced electronic systems.
If we compare the new 2nd generation crossover in a new body with its previous version, then it is worth noting all the newest external features of the Mazda CX-9. The first step is to pay attention to the front of the car, which they tried to provide with a more refined and rather aggressive bumper. The new shape of the radiator grille and the redesigned head optics are very different from their predecessor, this performance was first presented on the last generation of Mazda 6. Secondly, the new crossover has a larger spoiler and rather narrow lights on the rear of the car, and the window sill line in the area of the pillars now bends in waves. The rear of the car is a cross between a minivan and a sports hatchback.
Thirdly, one cannot ignore the new Machine Gra color, which gives the impression that the CX-9 is built from a solid and clean piece of steel. This color and shine was achieved with the help of ultra-precise stamping and high-quality assembly of the car, in accordance with all the traditions of a Japanese manufacturer. If the younger brother of the Mazda CX-5 is presented in a modern style, using traditional forms of a crossover, then the minivan class is more suitable here, although the company is positioning it as a crossover.
Honestly, the design turned out great, but the problem with it is that it is too conservative. It uses features that we saw on executive crossovers in 2010-2012, so we can safely say that Mazda is a little late with this car.

The interior of the crossover CX-9
The Japanese have worked hard on the interior of the CX-9, thanks to the new comfortable seats, the interior of the new car looks much more spacious, in contrast to its previous models. Also, the wheelbase of the car has been increased, thanks to which the rear row passengers can feel as comfortable as possible.
As the car manufacturers assure, for maximum noise insulation, they have come to use the highest quality material to date, which made it possible to isolate the noise in the car while driving as much as possible. In addition, Japanese designers have made quite expensive upholstery in Nappa leather, with inserts of natural and rare rosewood. The interior comfort of the SUV has also significantly changed, the interior design differs in almost everything from the previous version of the model, new seats, an improved console, a comfortable steering wheel.
It is worth paying attention to the 8-inch touchscreen display with the built-in latest MAZDA CONNECT system, which in turn has become retractable, which significantly reduces the risk of damage. Moreover, the new equipment systems also include modern i-Activsense technologies. I-Activsense is an additional safety system on the road: blind spot monitoring systems, especially the improved technology of emergency automatic braking in front of a potential threat - a sudden appearance of an obstacle.
The side and front windows in the new model have become much thicker, which most likely also played a significant role in isolating driving noise.
Now a little about design. Naturally, it was reworked from the last generation, however, it is high time to do it. The dashboard is just some kind of Christmas tree, on which there are many lights of different colors. However, it is worth paying tribute to the functionality, for example, the illumination of the devices is made in white moon light, which is simply attractive and does not irritate the eye.
The dashboard and center console are presented in a classic style, somewhat piled up, in any case, from the passenger side it looks quite cumbersome. The console itself protrudes slightly, smoothly flowing into the central tunnel, which is also raised. Thus, it turns out that everyone in front is seated in his cockpit.

Unfortunately, to date, little is known about the characteristics. Due to innovations in the dimensions of the CX 9 crossover, the manufacturer managed to significantly influence the weight of the car, in this version the car became 90 kg. less weight, and all-wheel drive modifications were reduced by 140 kg. The body has now become much lighter, due to the use of durable steel technologies.
Already today, a modern and powerful turbo engine SKYACTIV-G 2.5T, which has a capacity of 230 horsepower, and with a torque of 420 Nm, has been announced on the automotive market for power motors. The new specially designed turbine has the ability to instantly increase the boost power to 1.2 barrels. Today the gearbox is only available in the SKYACTIV-DRIVE 6-band hydromechanical version.
The maximum speed of the crossover will be 192 km / h, while acceleration to the first hundred will take 9.1 seconds. Fuel consumption in the urban cycle, according to preliminary data, will be 12.4 liters, while outside the city the consumption will not exceed 7.8 liters of gasoline. Soon, not only front-wheel drive versions, but also all-wheel drive i-ACTIV AWD systems will appear in all American markets. This engine is expected to work in conjunction with an automatic transmission. Naturally, such a modification will not be the only one permanently, but, unfortunately, at the moment the Japanese manufacturer cannot share with us all possible innovations.
Of course, the newest 2016 Mazda CX 9 crossover has a significant list of state-of-the-art electronics technologies in stock to ensure maximum driving safety. The Japanese manufacturer is trying to improve safety systems every year; this year, such innovations make it possible to reduce the occurrence of an emergency situation on the road much more. This is facilitated by modern safety technologies, such as: the new Smart City Brake Support system, which in turn automatically stops the car in the city, when driving less than thirty kilometers per hour. One of the nice things about the car is the cruise control system.
The Japanese company Mazda over the past 10 years has bypassed its competitors precisely due to the increased safety when driving. That is why the Japanese very cleverly and originally reduced the braking distance of the car on the road, by increasing the front brake discs (up to 325 mm). Also, there is still an independent MacPherson strut at the front, and an independent suspension at the rear.

The assembly of this new item will be carried out at the famous production facilities of the Japanese Hiroshima. According to today's data, we know that about eighty percent of the new Mazda of this model will be actively promoted to markets in all states of America, sales will begin in the spring of next year.
But, unfortunately, the manufacturer did not even name the approximate cost of the new Mazda CX-9. It is also not yet known whether the sale of the CX-9 in Russia will begin in the near future. But, it is worth noting that today the Japanese manufacturer is selling CX-9 in Russia at a price of 1.9 million rubles. The car uses a 3.7 liter V6 engine with a capacity of 277 hp. In 2009, Mazda Corporation stopped delivering its cars to Russia, but after another update in 2013, it continued deliveries again.
In 2015, over 9 months, sales of these cars in Russia decreased by as much as 40 percent. The best-selling model of this brand in Russia is the CX-5 crossover - since the appearance of this car on the market, its sales amounted to 14,969 units. According to experts, the Mazda CX-9 car will cost from two million rubles, which is not surprising at all.
However, most experts point out that the amount spent on such a car will most likely not be justified. According to statistics, Russians can buy two good cars for this amount. But, it is worth noting that, unfortunately, the new Mazda model will not appear on the Russian markets very soon, because the Japanese company is initially aimed at the American markets, since it is there that the demand for their cars is quite large, compared to Russia.
The equipment of the new CX-9 model has become much more extensive in comparison with the previous versions of the model. The new crossover will have seven paint options so far, as well as diode optics, a modern Mazda Connect multimedia system, which includes an 8-inch Touch Screen, a Bose audio system with 12 speakers and a high-tech security system.
